One of the best pieces of advice given to me as a writer is to write like I talk -- have a conversation with my characters vs. writing about conversations to my audience. The best way that I'm able to achieve this is by taking on the voice of each character as I write. At that moment, I am able to live out that experience as that character, from his/her perspective. Put yourself inside the story. Don't write about it from the outside.... rewrite it!
